A Leg Up ~ Dog Walking and Pet Sitting

Make your dog’s life better; make yours easier. Whether you rely on A Leg Up for daily walks or dog sitting, there is never a need to be anxious. At A Leg Up, we keep all your pet’s information on file. From emergency numbers and vet details to personal preferences, our staff is sure to be as informed about your needs – and your animals’ needs – as you are. Last minute travel plans or changes in your pup’s behaviour – they’re all noted and we do our best to accommodate or react immediately. Because our service includes pick-up and drop-off, there is never any need to arrange a lift or even get home for a certain hour.

Pick-up. Drop-off. Flexibility. Worry-free. Hassle-free.

Socialization
Give your best friend the benefit of a social life. Dogs are, by nature, pack animals. They respond best to interaction with other dogs. The earlier your dog is exposed to other dogs, the better. A well-supervised, selectively chosen group of dogs promotes positive social behaviour, minimizes tendencies towards aggression and encourages activity. There are some exceptions, of course, but a dog that doesn’t come in regular contact with other dogs is more likely to develop neurosis and anti-social conduct.

A Leg Up matches groups of six compatible dogs and maintains the regularity of these groupings as much as possible. Just one of the reasons A Leg Up’s clients are as loyal as the pets they treasure.

Avoid aggression. Promote mental health. Reduce their stress.
Raise the quality of their life.

Health
A health club – for the four-legged. Studies have shown that regular exercise can extend the lifespan of your canine friend as much as three years – that’s human years, decades in dog years. As with people, continued exercise improves the physical and mental well-being of a dog. Quite possibly the most common medical complaint of dogs is obesity. Up to 40% of North American dogs are overweight. Apart from the discomfort this can cause to the animal, a great number of damaging health problems can arise. A Leg Up takes each dog out for at least an hour every time, rain, sleet, or snow.

Fewer trips to the vet. A happier, healthier dog.
